Each year, the MA-RI Chapter of HFMA proudly invites members to help shape the future of our organization by participating in the nomination process for our Board of Directors. This important tradition ensures that our Chapter continues to thrive through diverse leadership, innovative thinking, and strong member engagement.
The Nominating Committee
In accordance with Chapter bylaws, a Nominating Committee is formed annually to identify and recommend candidates for the Board of Directors. This year’s committee includes:

Patrick McDonough, Immediate Past President
The committee will meet in early January to recommend a slate of Directors for a two-year term beginning June 1, 2026. The recommended slate will be voted on by the membership in the spring.
Desired Competencies and Characteristics
The Officers have identified several key qualities that support effective Board leadership. While these are guidelines—not requirements—they help us maintain a strong and balanced board. Ideal candidates should:

Demonstrate meaningful contributions to the field of healthcare finance and/or HFMA.

Exhibit leadership ability, as shown through participation in HFMA committees, other governance roles, or leadership positions within their organizations.

Be an active member of the MA-RI Chapter of HFMA.
How to Submit a Nomination

All recommendations should be submitted by Monday, December 30, 2025.
We welcome and encourage self-nominations from members who are eager to contribute their time, expertise, and vision to advance our Chapter’s mission.
Confidentiality and Consideration
All nominations are treated with the utmost confidentiality. While the Nominating Committee carefully considers every recommendation, its responsibility is to present a well-rounded and balanced slate. Please note that nominations remain active for two years and will be reconsidered during the next cycle.
