With the holidays rapidly approaching, there will be plenty of opportunities for individuals and organizations to give back to communities in meaningful ways.
One such way is by supporting the Gemma E. Moran United Way / Labor Food Center, which helps to advance its mission to address food insecurity issues and directly impacts the quality of life of Southeastern Connecticut community members dealing with lack of consistent access to food. For example, did you know that the Center created access to approximately 1.8 million meals and snacks just last year alone, serving 22,286 people monthly?
The 2024 Joint Annual Compliance and Internal Audit Conference, being held December 4-6, 2024, coincides with this special time of gratitude and generosity. The Massachusetts/Rhode Island Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and New England Internal Auditors (NEHIA) have proudly chosen to partner with the Gemma E. Moran United Way / Labor Food Center by participating in its Virtual Food Drive.
The Center, in particular, seeks the following high-need items for the Food Drive: microwaveable oatmeal, ramen, and mac & cheese; peanut butter, pasta and sauce, cereal, mac & cheese, canned fruits and vegetables, soup, rice, dry beans, and shelf-stable milk.
We encourage you to join us at the Compliance and Internal Audit Conference and participate in the Virtual Food Drive by either bringing non-perishable items in person to the conference, scanning the QR code below, or by making a direct donation to the Center.
Happy holidays and we hope to see you in Connecticut!
