The HFMA MA-RI Chapter and New England Healthcare Internal Auditors (NEHIA) organization would like to thank all of those who made last week’s virtual Compliance and Internal Audit Conference a success!
Thank you to our more than 140 participants who joined us for one or both days. We hope you enjoyed the presentations and cannot wait to be back together in person, hopefully next year!
Many thanks to our speakers for pulling together such informative presentations and being flexible with the virtual format. With 18 speakers presenting on 12 topics, we had a great lineup for the conference this year!
Finally, thank you to the NEHIA and HFMA MA-RI board members and planning committee members who helped facilitate the planning of the conference as well as collaborate on our first-ever virtual conference. Special thanks to the HFMA administrators who ran the Zoom online seminar – we could not have done this without you!

What our speakers are saying
This is my second year presenting at this conference and though it was a bit different being virtual this year, it was still outstanding! The team did a great job organizing and delivering excellent content and speakers. Even as a presenter, attending and listening to other speakers, I learn so much that I can carry forward and incorporate into my own practice. I highly recommend this conference if you are looking for two days filled with great information and great interaction! – Renee Broadbent
I was so impressed with the quality of the conference and variety of presentations. And despite Zoom fatigue, turnout was impressive. Well done! – Kelly Sauders
I look forward to the compliance conference every year – it’s a way to keep up on important changes in the industry. Not only did the chapter carry the mantle this year and make sure our members had access to the same great content as in years past, but the chapter used the virtual format to elevate the program in a number of impressive ways. From the caliber of speakers, to the range of content provided, to the well organized and well executed conference, it was a great success and I’m honored to have been part of it! – David Tolley
Commentary from our participants
Fantastic conference – it was extremely helpful and very insightful. I really enjoyed my time at the conference. I am looking forward to next year’s conference. – Debbie Nedder
I’ve been attending the NEHIA annual conference for the past 7 years and I continue to do so because of the incredible and consistent value it delivers. The conference agenda, each year, includes timely and relevant topics covered by a variety of subject matter experts including representation from local peers and colleagues, consultants, and advisors as well as enforcement agencies such as the OCR, OIG, and FBI. Each of the presentations are aimed at providing internal audit, compliance, and privacy professionals alike with informative regulatory updates, relevant risk considerations and best practice recommendations. This conference has traditionally taken place in person, and although that was not feasible for 2020, the content, presenters and overall experience was equally valuable, and I look forward to attending again next year. – Kyle Yermalovich
The NEHIA/HFMA conference was engaging, informative and fun. All of the presenters were knowledgeable about subject matters from coding to cybersecurity, which was one of the most insightful, frightening, and enjoyable presentations given during the conference. – Masequa Pina
This year’s NEHIA Conference exceeded my expectations. Every seminar was perfectly relevant to the current Compliance Culture and the speakers were all well versed in their area of expertise. Seminars started and finished on schedule. I really enjoyed this year’s conference and learned a great deal. I missed the social networking of all being together and meeting new people, but will look forward to that next year. Thanks for the NEHIA and HFMA Conference organizing committee for a great conference! Well Done and Thank You. – Mark Grandonico
We hope to see everyone next year! Have a safe and happy holiday season.
